Would if be offensive to put brown body/face paint on me this Halloween to look Black?

I'm going to dress up as Obama this halloween, except the problem is I'm not black. Will it offend people if I buy brown body and face paint and make the visible parts of myself look black? Has anyone tried this and did it look legit? I want to have a good time with my buddies this halloween and avoid any possible altercations with people thinking that I may be racist (which I'm not) just because I tried to make myself look black. Opinions?Would if be offensive to put brown body/face paint on me this Halloween to look Black?
Why not just buy the mask? Then if you wear long sleeves its no big deal and you dont have to worry about offending anyone.Would if be offensive to put brown body/face paint on me this Halloween to look Black?
You won't appear racist if you don't try to make Obama look bad. Meaning, if you think of racial stereotypes of blacks and apply them to your costume, then that's bad. But if you dress just like he appears on tv, then I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Years ago I (a white woman) dressed as Will Smith's character in Men in Black. A white male friend was Tommy Lee Jone's character. We went to our favorite clubs in downtown Orlando and everyone loved it. I wore a black wig that I cut very very short, used tons of make-up on my face, neck, and hands, and that was it, other than the clothing. Just be careful your make-up doesn't run onto your clothes. That happened to me. Have fun!
Your playing into the racism trap. Remember Obama is half white too. He is not all black nor is he white. Go have fun your supporting someone you like. NOT a color. If they bring up the racism issue it proves they are the racist not you. At least that is my thoughts on the matter.
I personally don't think it's racist. But my friend was Samuel L. Jackson once and he got sent home from school due to being offensive. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

So no, I don't believe it's offensive. But I can guarantee you, someone WILL.
I wouldnt think it would be offensive, but everyone has different arguments. So its really gonna be ur judgment.... skin color is skin color. Everyone knows about has it, so its not like your being rebellious and bringing up something new... No one finds it offensive when someone wears a red wig? thats color too... lol Hav fun! its halloween!
It depends on if it is as a joke or just to be serious because you are trying to promote people t ovote for Obama for president.
It might offend. But I highly doubt it, although Obama is half-white. It possibly won't offend. So good luck.
Definetely not...make a sign or something saying ';vote for obama'; or something easy to carry...this will show that you support him and hopefully others will not take it the wrong way.

Hope all goes well,

xoxo
