Yes, you can. You will need about two cans of primer, a can of black paint(two if you have larger wheels), and a can of protective clear coat. You do the calculation on how much this gonna cost you.
First, you have to roughen up the silver shiny surface with sandpaper then apply auto primer. Apply black paint after the primer has completely dried. You need to clear coat the wheels to make it more shine and the paint will stick longer. Can I use the touch-up spray paint for auto-body on auto wheels ?

I have been told to use One part Acrylic Lacquer Primer and two part Urethane Primer after that process a Acrylic Lacquer Clear Coat goes one followed by Acrylic Urethane Clear Coat.
A good cleaning and sanding is required and a discharge should be done to ensure that it doesn't attract any dust.

i have 16yrs. in a bodyshop.we also use everything urethane primer and paint.and the macco comment is very true.hah.maybe they do use spray cans from walmart.every job i have seen done by them is either peeling from not being sanded at all or faded a year later.many used car dealers go there to get a cheap shine for a sale.the name brand products that are the best i use are 3M but very expensive.something just as good with a lifetime warranty is transtar products.affordable and simple to use.good luck.
as a body shop owner I'll tell you that the majority of us use top of the line urethane paint with a clear coat. major paint companies work hard to provide the best color match and they meet factory specs for quality and durability. but not all paint co's do. quality paint is expensive but well worth it. remember, you get what you pay for. a good example is Maaco. they'll paint your car for 250$, but in a year it will look worse than before it was painted because of cheap paint. 250$ won't even buy enough good paint for an all over job. never mind the labor.
A good body shop will use your VIN (Serial Number from the car) to determine the original paint used and order the appropriate paint to match it.
They spray with special equipment, not aerosol cans.
You might try to find a 'dent repair' body shop - they can sometimes fix dents without needing to paint. Much cheaper and faster.

There is actually more work involved in this than you think. I have done a few of these and they can be a bit of a pain. Expect to pay probably 800-1000 for this as they will have to take off both bumper covers, paint all the pieces and then install them.

sorry i cant help u in maryland,but i just wanted to remind you to have them blend it in with your current paint. my roomate has his kit painted THEN he put it on his car and the body kit was the right color but twice as bright as the rest of

I'm going to deduct another $500. All this assumes I'm looking for a project car. In most cases, people don't want to have to do anything.

I would try Turtle Wax bug and tar first The Paint on a Vette can take even stronger chemicals like grease and oil remover available from paint shops. 3M makes a product called adheasive remover I keep some around for just such a white stripe paint sling. All will remove the carefully applied wax job.... But if your car was properly waxed we would not be having this little talk. Well waxed cars just wash off the paint stuck to the wax and circular scrubbing with a wash mitt should take the road paint off. Waxed cars you could have blown off the paint with a pressure wahser at the self service car wash

first try to check the label of the paint if its water based or oil based, but since it didnt come off with water, it must be oil based. try using paint thinner, but dont pour it to your self try using a cotton ball...after that wash the smell away with soap and water, it worked for me :)

If you go to a big store like wal-mart or target or something like that there is this rectangular rock thing and when you get in the shower/bath you just start scrubbing away and it comes off and they are only like $2 I think and that is how you get paint off. oh and if it is not at one of those places go to a paint store they might have it.

Read the label on the paint can. They usually have clean-up instructions on them. Soap and water really only works for latex or water-based paint. If you are using an oil-based paint, try using mineral spirits to clean up. It is cheap, and you can get it at the hardware store or Wal-mart. Paint thinner is a tougher paint cleaner, but I would only use that on your palms. It will burn more sensitive areas like your chest or even the back side of your hands. My father was a painter. When I was six-years-old I sat in a bowl of paint thinner while my Dad was cleaning brushes. That was over 25 years ago, and I still remember how bad it stung!
hot water and soap usually does it. if not the soap go joe (the stuff that feels like it has sand in it) takes everything off. mechanics use it a lot to get grease off. best wishes!

first try to check the label of the paint if its water based or oil based, but since it didnt come off with water, it must be oil based. try using paint thinner, but dont pour it to your self try using a cotton ball...after that wash the smell away with soap and water, it worked for me :)

If you go to a big store like wal-mart or target or something like that there is this rectangular rock thing and when you get in the shower/bath you just start scrubbing away and it comes off and they are only like $2 I think and that is how you get paint off. oh and if it is not at one of those places go to a paint store they might have it.
White sprit will remove it , it smells horrid so just make sure u wash ur self after to get rid of the smell.

When I was six-years-old I sat in a bowl of paint thinner while my Dad was cleaning brushes. That was over 25 years ago, and I still remember how bad it stung!
hot water and soap usually does it. if not the soap go joe (the stuff that feels like it has sand in it) takes everything off. mechanics use it a lot to get grease off. best wishes!

What is the best way to remove paint from the body of a 1969 Corvette?
We have a 1969 Chevy Corvette and we're in the process of restoring it. What is the best way to remove paint from the body? It is fiberglass. I've heard of people media blasting, sanding, stripping, etc. Whats the best and SAFEST way to remove paint from this fiberglass body? Another quick question, what color is the raw fiberglass on these cars? also if any of you have any pictures of good information that we could use to help us along the way we would really appreciate it.What is the best way to remove paint from the body of a 1969 Corvette?

Stripping solutions could also mess with the integrity of the fiberglass and give you more problems than you imagined. Also once you get it stripped completely, contact a good body shop that works with fiberglass, or a Corvette shop if there is one in your area. You will need to rework any areas with Spider Cracks, and older fiberglass gets dried out and needs to be reworked before you prime and paint it again. In other words, check with some shops for sure to see what you need to do to restore the life back into the fiberglass.
It is usually white or kind of cream in color. If you have black areas or anything like that, someone has probably patched it with marine materials.

Go to the Arts and Crafts department of Kmart. Use that regular .89 cent paint that comes in cute little bottles. It is washable and comes out really easy.

now a days they are using a much better plastic called lexan.

You can usually pick up a used airbrush/compressor for under $100 from a just-graduated art student. check around the schools. For frisket you can just use masking tape. You have to plan out your work pretty well, though.

I used a touch up pen which is better than a small brush. A touch up pen will allow you to exactly follow the scratches. After I filled in all the scratches on my car I then buffed out the paint job and gave my car a good wax cote.Now my car looks almost new. You have to look very close to the paint the see any of the scratches.Also if you dont have a buffing wheel than you can try this technique that I used on my car before I buffed it. The first thing you need to do is get some armoral interior spray (original) then you need to get armoral gel wax. Next is to wash your car realy good and dry it. Now after the car is dry take a soft cloth and spray the interior spray on the cloth and go over the whole car keeping the cloth damp but not wet with the interor spray. after that now take another soft cloth and dampen it with a little water and put a small amount of wax gel on the cloth. Now use a circular motion and wipe the wax into the paint do this until the wax has covered to body panel completely then after you are done than repeat this step on the other body panels. This sounds crazy but it works very well and it will hide a lot of small scraches and some large ones, plus it will bring out the clear cotes shine. You just have to keep doing this every two mounths and your car will look like new. It will even work on faded trim and molding.

while removing the fiberglass cap on my nissan truck years ago, it had slipped out of my hands and remove the paint at the top edge of the bed for about 12';.
i dabbed in the touch paint, let it dry, dabbed in, let dry, dabbed, dry, etc,etc. till the area was filled in. i then wetsanded it with 1200 grit sandpaper, after it was smooth, i blended the paint all in with some more touch paint and an airbrush. the color was 1995 nissan anthracite grey metallic (grey and metallic not an easy color to match).
after the airbrush paint was dried, i buffed it out. couldnt even tell it was fixed.
It will come off. If the scratches were deep, it will require repainting the area. if there is a lot of them, you will be better repainting the car.
i own a repair and restoration shop,and they will probably have to re-paint the area where the scratches are,they cant just repair the scratches and paint or buff that area out on it,,if its a door it will have to be re-sprayed,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

It would involve alot of you promoting and building up other people's business. You basically would be doing some cold calling and pitching the body shop to potential customer. If you gonna do any type of sales or marketing why not go for top dollar. There are many great opportunities in this day and age but a traveling sales person isn't on of them. That's what you will basically be, I have tried everything from affiliate marketing to online surveys and I learned several things. That all the work you put into those companies doesn't add up to much. I work a full-time job, but I need more to help me with the rising cost of everything. But if you want a real opportunity to make some money here's what you look for in an online company.
1. If you decide to sell a product it has to be in high demand and be very low in cost.

It would involve alot of you promoting and building up other people's business. You basically would be doing some cold calling and pitching the body shop to potential customer. If you gonna do any type of sales or marketing why not go for top dollar. There are many great opportunities in this day and age but a traveling sales person isn't on of them. That's what you will basically be, I have tried everything from affiliate marketing to online surveys and I learned several things. That all the work you put into those companies doesn't add up to much. I work a full-time job, but I need more to help me with the rising cost of everything. But if you want a real opportunity to make some money here's what you look for in an online company.

I have touched up some dings and scratches on a baby grand piano and now it need to be painted. I don't want to spray it with aresol cans of paint and I'm thinking an auto body shop, with a spray booth could do a good job. Don't suggest I have it ';professionaly'; done. You need to look for auto-body repair and paint supplies. Don't be surprised if they won't sell to you, most of the paint suppliers will only sell to body shops because the paints are an environmental hazard and you need to have a paint booth to apply them safely.

Drive around a residential area and look at cars in the driveways. If you see one with damage then estimate the cost to repair it and knock on the door and let the owner know about your business and give them the estimate and a business card.
One body shop in my area that is on a slightly busy street likes to take a car that's been damaged and put it on display close to the street for a week or so then they repair the car and put it back on display for a week or so that way you can see the quality of the work they do. Usually they do it with cars that look as those they've been totalled.What are the best method to generate more business for a auto body repair paint shop ?

Also...when people come to your shop, ask them how they heard about you, so that you know how effective your advertising is, and can cut out ineffective forms.
If you accept insurance claims, I would call the insurance companies in 100 mile radius and start from there..If you don't then advertise as much as you can. Car signs I think work great, do a catchy paint job on one of your own that would really catch the eye then your company name under it. Here's a great free idea. Go to the local library and arrange for the computer tech to help you do that.

Iam not sure you can absorb lead through the skin in that form. I have never seen a study on it. I do know you CANNOT ! absorb it by handling raw lead or dried lead paint.
If lead is in Tetraelthy form (TEL) and you get that on your skin you don't get sick.... You get dead.....

She just dumped it in a bathtub and laid in there for a while.
No, it didn't come off on her clothing, and the color came off her skin with a little scrubbing the next 2 days.

If i buy a body kit for my eclipse, can i have the paint matched and just paint the body kit?
I want to buy this bomber body kit, but i dont want to spend 3000 dollars on a paint job if i can just match the paint and have the body kit painted. You would be better off getting the whole car painted at once. No matter how good they try to match the paint nobody can get an exact match. That is unless the car is brand new. The reason being is sun fad, chemicals in the rain, waxing the old paint. All of these can change the color slightly and unevenly. Does sealing the body in paint dangerous?
I read an article that said it was OK to do so and siteing that the skin doesn't breathe. I am certain this practice of painting the skin includes keeping an area of the skin bare to ensure the skin can function properly. It is entirely possible that the fictional character in GoldFinger was killed and then painted. But what happens if the skin is really sealed? A few months ago there was something on TV re: debunking myths.To proove if true, they painted a guy entirely in gold paint but they had him wired up to monitor heart, blood pressure, pulse, etc., and they found out it was very dangerous to do that as the skin cannot breathe and the guy nearly passed out and all his vital signs were starting to go critical.
Your biggest danger from painting yourself would be heat exhaustion. The paint clogs the sweat glands diminishing your ability to lose heat. If you're just going to sit there, then you'd probably be okay (not that I'm advocating covering yourself in paint, mind you). And the skin doesn't ';breathe'; in the truest sense of the word; as long as you don't clog up your nose with paint you won't suffocate. And the woman in Goldfinger didn't die; she's alive and well today. And despite the fact that Jaimie did suffer a blood pressure fluctuation while covered in paint, the Mythbusters busted this myth.
