try rubbing alcohol in a hidden spot like inside a door frame and see if it does anything to paint. i dont think it will but i am not 100 percent pos. it should take ink off. good luck.Is there a good, safe way to remove permanent marker ink from the body paint on a car?
Denatured alcohol will remove it, just test in a small hidden area if you can. It will remove the wax, so you will have to wax your car when you are finished to protect the paint.
I had a customer come into my store once with the same problem. I sold him Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover. The customer said it worked great! very little work to get the marker off the paint.
Denatured alcohol (not rubbing alcohol) may work for some kinds of markers. It's sold in drug stores, and also in paint stores as shellac thinner.

If that doesn't work, get some rubbing compound at an auto store and rub the area gently with it. Jeweler's rouge or silver polish may also be used. Take your time. Follow with a good quality car wax.
Stop by your local auto parts store.Pick up a bottle of hand glaze. The hand glaze is a cleaner for the finish of the car.Take your time and it will clean the stain from the finish.
