Yes in the first wizard of OZ the first tin man became very sick because his skin could not breath causes the body to over heat
They had to let him go and get another first one was hospitialized.Does sealing the body in paint dangerous?
No, that's not true. Buddy Ebson, the actor originally signed on to play the Tin Woodsman, had an allergic reaction to the aluminum-based make-up, and that's why he was replaced.

A few months ago there was something on TV re: debunking myths. To proove if true, they painted a guy entirely in gold paint but they had him wired up to monitor heart, blood pressure, pulse, etc., and they found out it was very dangerous to do that as the skin cannot breathe and the guy nearly passed out and all his vital signs were starting to go critical.
Your biggest danger from painting yourself would be heat exhaustion. The paint clogs the sweat glands diminishing your ability to lose heat. If you're just going to sit there, then you'd probably be okay (not that I'm advocating covering yourself in paint, mind you). And the skin doesn't ';breathe'; in the truest sense of the word; as long as you don't clog up your nose with paint you won't suffocate. And the woman in Goldfinger didn't die; she's alive and well today. And despite the fact that Jaimie did suffer a blood pressure fluctuation while covered in paint, the Mythbusters busted this myth.
have you ever wathced ';mythbusters';....it's a cool show where they do experiments to test out popular myths....
they did a ';goldfinger'; experiment where they painted themself in gold paint.....and they found that in a short period of time his blood pressure started to rise and the paramedic advised him to remove the paint
they might have a website where you can check it out
