Will you die if you cover your whole body in body paint?

in the man with the golden gun they kill someone by painting her whole body with body paint, but would this actually kill someone? Will you die if you cover your whole body in body paint?
i believe it can. Mythbusters tried this once under controlled medical conditions and the person with the paint on (gold) suffered badly and it had to be taken off as a matter of urgency.

this happened with gold paint and i would think could also happen with silver also however a lot of body paints are water based in which case they should not cause any harm.

see if you can find something in google under body painting.

i think you need to leave some body exposed in which case it possibly would not be dangerous but personally i would not be prepared to take the risk until i knew all the possibilities.

edit: there is some beautiful body painting art been done. Will you die if you cover your whole body in body paint?
The most famous incident of this happening was in the film ';Goldfinger';, with Sean Connery as James Bond. The actress who ';died'; was Shirley Eaton.

If you read the book by Ian Fleming, he describes that when using body paint, a wide strip, usually down the length of the spine, is left unpainted so that the body, the pores, can still breathe. If the whole body is covered with paint, then the person will indeed die.
I think eventually you could die, after a while.

I know that it's not safe to been in full body paint for that long, because you're skin can't breathe, so basically, you suffocate yourself.

But you CAN cover yourself it in, people in music videos and stuff do all the time.

Just not for long :)
Yes it is indeed true because it deprives the skin of oxygen and the body takes in all the toxins from the paint through your pores which enters the blood stream.
Mythbusters tv programme on the Discovery Channel tried copying the experiment but although the girl did get distressed they couldn't really bust that myth on tv.

There's a bit about their experiment further down the page on the website below.
no. they proved this is probably wrong on mythbusters. don't try it though. they had some problems while doing this myth. so right now no one is really sure yet. i'll watch the episode again and refresh my memory.
if you are using body paint then no because it is meant for the body but i would just be careful. And double check it is body paint before using it :)
yes, the skin needs to breathe. you would need to leave an area unpainted and don't leave the paint on any longer than necessary
Long years ago a kid in a circus was painted gold all over to ride on an elephant I believe he fell off it dead so it may well be so for the reasons given.
do you mean golden eye, the james bond film. Yh you suffocate cause your skin cannot breathe.
i shouldn't think so! After all it is only a film.

Reasearch on the internet about it first though just in case!

xx
no because if your skin needed to breath you would die when you had a bath
Try it and see..
yes your skin needs to breath
I don't know and am not willing to try
yeah, the pores in ur skin cant breath

then u die lol i wouldnt try it
