Hi, I have a few paint chips where I have taken off the side/door trim strips. There are a lot of tiny flakes of paintwork missing but in one spot there is a thumb size chip in the paintwork.
Can these chips be effectively covered up like new without spraying the whole car? if so How?Tips on fixing chipped body paint-work?
Look in yellow pages for ';Paint less repaire'; these guys are mobile and can paint small paint chips for you.
Ja.Tips on fixing chipped body paint-work?
If it is just the doors that are chipped then you could have only the doors repaired and painted to match. Much cheaper than painting the entire car. You can haggle the price out with the body shop.
There are plenty of different kinds of touch up paint out there. Duplicolor has paint that will match the original color. If there is a little dent, you can use body filler, but use sparingly, as it can create a high spot when its painted over. Touch up paint wont make it new, but you wont notice it from a foot or two away or more.
there are paint places out there like auto paint an places like that they will mix paint to the same colour as your car so if its faded a bit an so on it will match spot on the price for this put in a can for you is about 拢10 for a large spray can you can then if its a small chip get a small modellers brush spray some paint in the lid then dab it on the area u want then t cut in an there you go but if there is signs of rust put rust stop on first
I don't know if this will help but I have always recommended nail varnish, it is waterproof, if you make a mistake it is easy to take off, comes in loads of colours and is known to be chip proof. although i normally only use it in small areas. hope this helps
